Movie and Television Review and Classification Board Chairperson Lala Sotto has issued a statement amid complaints received regarding the noontime show It’s Showtime after Vice Ganda reprimanded a contestant of EXpecially For You on national television.

It can be recalled that many netizens did not like what they said was the humiliation of Unkabogable Star and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda to the two contestants of Expecially For You, especially the male searchee Axel.

Some netizens even pointed out that if Axel were to leave, Vice Ganda would not tell him like he did to previous guests on It’s Showtime.

Many also said that Vice Ganda was unfair to their guests and that he intentionally humiliated Axel, which is why he deserves to be taught a lesson by the MTRCB.

There are also netizens who openly sent messages and comments on the MTRCB Facebook page, where the page admin encouraged them to file an official complaint with the MTRCB so that they can investigate whether Vice Ganda and the other hosts of It’s Showtime really violated any rules with the two contestants of the show, Axel and Christine.

In the midst of this heated debate on social media, well-known talent manager and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz released a statement regarding Lala Sotto’s statement when he asked her about the issue.

Ogie Diaz asked MTRCB chairperson Lala Sotto about her thoughts on the issue, which the public official reportedly happily answered.

According to Ogie Diaz’s revelation, Lala Sotto believes that Vice Ganda acted correctly and appropriately in the situation where Axel seemed to be trying to kiss Christine, during their meeting on the noontime show.

According to Lala Sotto, she has not yet made an official statement regarding what happened but she believes that Vice Ganda did the right thing in the said situation.

On the other hand, Ogie Diaz believes that Lala Sotto has become cautious in issuing statements following the criticisms she received when she led the suspension of It’s Showtime.

It can be recalled that the airing of It’s Showtime was suspended for several weeks due to the actions of Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in a segment with their young hosts.
