Vivian Velez apologizes to Angel Locsin over Top 100 ABS-CBN stockholders post

Vivian Velez to Angel Locsin: “I do believe you have a good heart in helping others.”
Vivian Velez apologized to Angel Locsin after Angel expressed her disappointment with the way Vivian revealed the ABS-CBN actress’s name as one of ABS-CBN’s top 100 stakeholders.

Vivian made her statement to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) lead correspondent Arniel Serato this Sunday, February 23, 2020, via Facebook Messenger.

The actress said, “Don’t be so defensive, my Angel without wings.

“I do believe you have a good heart in helping others.

“Please try to you use this kind of passion objectively with the perspective of doing what is right for the whole nation.

“I apologize if you think I maligned you in my FB personal wall post but that was not my intention.

“I’m still a big fan of yours. Peace.”

ANGEL REACTS TO VIVIAN’S POST
It will be recalled that last Friday, February 21, 2020, Angel Locsin released a statement on her Instagram account against Vivian’s Facebook post showing the Top 100 Stockholders List of ABS-CBN.

The 51-year-old actress and Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) Director-General released the list on her Facebook account on February 12, 2020.

In its comments section, a netizen left what appeared to be a sarcastic comment.

“Chinese-Filipinos or just Chinese? Oligarchs? Dummies?” she said.

Vivian replied (published as is), “And actors?… Angelica Colminares is Angel Locsin.” Although she didn’t say it directly, Vivian clearly implied that Angel has a “vested interest” in showing sympathy for the ABS-CBN franchise renewal issue because she is one of the network’s stakeholders—which Angel strongly contradicted in her response.

It was more than a week before Angel responded with her Instagram post with a screenshot of Vivian’s Facebook post.

She captioned it (published as is), “Just to clear things up, (1) I am not part of any political party, nor representing any politician, (2) I do not have an existing contract with ABS-CBN. Therefore, the company has no control over whatever I want to post, (3) Sorry to disappoint some people, but money is not everything.”I don’t know what Ms. Vivian’s intention was in her post, but if this is used to discredit my name and what I stand for, you don’t need to make it an issue.

“When my small investment in ABS-CBN makes a profit, I WILL DONATE EVERYTHING TO CHARITY. Accounted.”

Angel also said that her stocks, which are “payable in 5 years,” have not been fully paid up yet, so she doesn’t own them yet.

She also added, “Again, money is not everything…

“I respect everyone’s opinions. I know that even though we have different ways, we all prioritize the welfare of our workers. That’s what’s important.” RESPECT FOR ANGEL
However, Vivian admitted that she remains a fan of Angel, with whom she previously worked in the teleserye Immortal.

Vivian mentioned in an interview with PEP.ph during the press conference of the teleserye Immortal on October 11, 2010 that she admires the 34-year-old actress’s humility.

“I’m a real fan of Angel,” said Vivian.

“Because of the artists today, she’s so down to earth.

“Then, I wasn’t wrong because now that I’m with her, I really appreciate her more.

“That kid is so kind and she’s really a real person.”

Meanwhile, Lopez Holdings Corp. has made public the ABS-CBN Top 100 Stockholders List due to the possibility of closing down the company’s broadcasting units due to its problems with the legislative franchise.

The Senate hearing on the counterpart bill for the ABS-CBN franchise renewal is set for February 24 while their franchise is set to expire on March 30, 2020.
