WATCH: Tears flow on ‘Showtime’ as Anne Curtis looks forward to motherhood

Tears flowed on “It’s Showtime” Thursday as hosts Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis shared an emotional moment about the latter looking forward to motherhood.

The heartfelt exchange between the co-hosts and real-life best friends, which had the studio audience and other program mainstays similarly crying, happened during the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment.

A contestant, Visayas bet Del Maica Papas, was being interviewed by Vice Ganda and Curtis when the topic of motherhood came up. Papas mentioned willingly sacrificing her personal dreams for her child, prompting a moved Curtis to say: “When I hear stories like this, it makes me even more excited to be a mom.”

Curtis and her husband, restaurateur and vlogger Erwan Heussaff, are celebrating this month their first wedding anniversary

While Curtis’ statement initially triggered a joke from Vice Ganda, the banter soon took a sentimental turn, with the comedian giving a message for his “sister.”

Vice Ganda said: “It won’t be such a big surprise na makita ka namin kung gaano ka ka-galing na nanay. You don’t have to be a perfect woman to be a perfect mother. All you have to do is have a beautiful heart and that is enough.

“I have seen you. Ang dami mong struggles in the past. Maganda ka dati, pero sa mga pinagdaanan mo, lalong gumanda ang kaluluwa mo. Your kid, I am very sure, will be very proud of you. You will be such a perfect mother.”

Curtis, in turn, shared a recent conversation she had with Vice Ganda, who once admitted to her being scared of growing old alone.

“When we all grow old together, kami ni Erwan, we will always be here for you,” Curtis told Vice Ganda. “We can take you in, we will take care of you. Isa ka na rin sa magiging anak namin, eventually, when that time comes.”

The episode on Thursday was taped ahead of the holiday week.

Curtis, as of writing, is currently on a “long overdue honeymoon” with Heussaff in Africa. It comes after a packed year for the 33-year-old superstar, who thanked her husband, in her August concert, “for allowing me to do all these crazy things.”

“Minsan kulang-kulang na ang oras ko, my time for him. But he understands. Thank you so much for supporting me, mon amour,” she said at the time.

In 2018 alone, Curtis juggled three major films, the launch and expansion of her make-up line, her daily hosting duties on “It’s Showtime,” as well as her anniversary concert.
